Buttermere Edge in the English Lake District has three mountains overlooking the lake and village of Buttermere, Red Pike, High Crag, and the highest and most dramatic, High Stile. There are easy ways to reach the summit of High Stile, but my painting shows the peak from a more difficult path. The crags are almost geometric in pattern and shape and I've used an abstract, almost geometric technique to capture the drama.
