Abandoned Door at Lowther Castle

Lowther Castle lies to the north of the English Lake District near the town of Penrith. The current building is a castellated mansion built by Robert Smirke for William Lowther, 1st Earl of Lonsdale between 1806 and 1814. The gardens of Lowther Castle were abandoned in 1935. This door to the gardens is currently unused and was greatly overgrown when I visited it.
